I got DD a Hello Kitty one in Target for her 4th bday.
She loves it.
It seems to be of good quality and was like $70 maybe less.

I didn't do a character one, but that was his choice. Took him to Toys R Us and he tried out a few with the help of a sales guy. He picked out a Toy Story helmet. It was a Tony Hawk bike.

Bike for a 4 year old
my mom got DS a Cars bike (he just turned 4 in November). its small- the smallest size they make I think, it has training wheels... BUT the part he LOVES is that it came with a little "tool" set that hooks on to the front of the bike. he LOVES pretending to fix it haha he'll stop riding and say "uh oh! my bike needs to be fixed!!" LOL then get out the little tool set. I think it was less than $70 at walmart...

We bought my son a 16" for his 4th birthday. A teenage mutant ninja turtles one from target (toys r us had the same one for $25 more!!)

I took DS into TRU and we looked at the bikes. He didn't seem to car about having a character one, so I bought a cool, but plain blue one on sale on Black Friday for $40
