Feeding schedule for big 5-6 month old

Could you share your feeding schedules for your 5-6 month old. My DD is a bottomless pit! He has always been a big and long boy. At 5.5 months he is pushing 22 lbs and 28.5". We introduced oatmeal at 4.5 months since he was downing 35-38oz. We have introduced him to sweet potatoes, pears, zucchini. Should a feeding of solids/cereal replace a bottle entirely? The ped says to give him enough solids to replace a bottle but at his age should we be replacing his 2 bottle feedings. This is what we are currently feeding

7-8am: 8oz bottle
10-11am: 4-5 tbsp oatmeal w/4oz fruit (sometimes he demands 2 oz of formula..lol)
1-2 pm: 7oz bottle
4-5 pm: 4oz Veggie w/either fruit or formula (~5oz forumla)
7-8 pm: 7-8oz bottle

We are lucky DS has always been an excellent eater. Just trying to figure out how much solids to give. He never says no to food...lol!

Thanks!

Feeding schedule for big 5-6 month old

I was told the solids are in addition to the bottle of formula, it doesnt replace it. Keep in mind that my DD is only 15lbs but she eats at:

7am - 6 oz formula
10am - fruit
11am - 6 oz formula
2:00pm - 6 oz formula
5:00pm - veggie
6:00pm - 6 oz formula
8pm - Usually half bottle 3oz
11:00pm - 6oz formula

My DD did not drop a feeing (she is BF) when she started solids. She gets two meals and two small snacks and still nurses 4-5 times a day. She is over 20lbs.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like you're feeding him enough forumla. You say he's a great eater, but for 20 pounds, 30 oz of formula a day is not a lot.

At 5 months DS was drinking almost 40 oz of formula a day, and he didn't weigh anywhere near 20 pounds.

Also, jarred food should never replace formula. It's for practice and is in addition to formula. DS didn't drop a bottle until he started on more substantive table foods.

Thanks everyone for sharing!!! Its helpful to see what others are doing. We have a Dr visit soon and will review w/her but looks like 30oz formula plus two 4-6oz solid feedings is good. We follow his lead. Thx again!

My 5 month old was drinking 30 oz plus 2oz of solids and he was 19lbs...we followed his lead and he didnt want anymore formula other than what we gave him...its not always about the weight/formula ratio...he could be eating exactly what he needs...def talk to your ped
