Roller Skates
Would like to get a pair for my girls. Any recommendations for beginners ages 5 and 7.

Re: Roller Skates
depends so much on budget and somewhat on what kind of surface they plan to skate on. I remember a lot about skates, wheels and bearings from year and years of skating as a child. I always had a few pairs at once and did not use my indoor skates for outdoors. The best place to buy is Jesse Halpern's skate shop in Great Neck. Just call ahead to make sure they have some beginner models. You may pay a bit more than on Modell's but you will get the right skate. I would not go with any where the boots are lower than the typical skate boot.
The Chicago 1905 is a popular starting skate. I would prefer leather but it looks decent. I think most people end up starting with that one.
This one on Amazon looks nice but also not leather and I am not sure what type of bearing that is (there is girl skate there also but the caption says boys) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0072IGLXS?psc=1
