If you have young children and your DH goes to conferences, do you go?
DH has some nice conferences this year, but no Disney places. They are places I would enjoy, but idk if it's worth going - the airfare and the general hassle of air travel with a baby and toddler.

If it's a place I wanted to go and I had time off I'd go.

Re: If you have young children and your DH goes to conferences, do you go?
I have tagged along to a few - Vegas, SF/Napa Valley and Turkey. The first 2 were when we only had 1 child. Turkey was the one and only trip that DH and I went away solo since having DS#2 3 years ago.
The whole family is tagging along to Orlando this week. This is the first one the entire family is going to. There is a conference in Hawaii in 2015 that we may all go to. Undecided if it is worth the long flight.

DH does not have conferences but I do. No they have not come along. When I have them it's business morning til bed so I wouldn't be able to spend anytime with them.

usually DH goes by himself. This year it is in New Orleans, and I plan on tagging along (if i can get the time off) but I would leave DS here with grandparents/family.

It's rare my DH has to travel but if he was going somewhere cool I'd tag along, either with or without the kids.

This for me & DH. Last time we went with kids, we regretted it. The evenings are important for networking with people in the field (can't do it with family with kids). Now, we take turns (one a year). It's really only the price of the hotel and 1 flight ticket you are saving... And you lose time together.

Growing up my dad always went to conferences and business meetings and no we never tagged along. He was busy from morning to night. Now my mom has started to go with him to select places

DH has traveled for work and I've never gone with him. I'm traveling next month and DH will be home with DS. Business is business. It's breakfast through dinner, so it's not what I'd consider a vacation to bring family to.

No we don't go because he wouldn't have any time to spend with us. His whole day is scheduled when he is away.

Pre-kid I went to a couple with DH, I don't mind sightseeing alone but he also had some downtime. Next month he has a conference in Boston and we are all going. DD is 7 so she's at a great age and I've already planned out what we'll do while DH is busy. This is our first one together. It's a short drive for us and his work pays for the room so it's hard to pass up.
