Need a crash course in bottle feeding
So DD is hopefully coming home from the NICU tomorrow! They're probably going to have us give her a few bottles a day of fortified breastmilk so I want to send my mom to the store today to get any supplies I need bc I have nothing. Buying new bottles (tommy tippee) and 0 month nipples. I'm thinking a microwave sterilzer? Also the Dr. Brown's pitcher maybe. I'm adding the fortifier to bm so I can't shake it together. Is the pitcher gentle enough to not damage the bm? I wasn't going to bother with a warmer. Does it sound like that will cover it?

Congrats! I'm glad to hear your LO is coming home.
Ds is bottle fed at daycare. You really only need bottles and nipples. DH never a warms a bottle when he gives it to ds. As for sterilizing, I put them in a big pot in and beginning and it took all of 10 minutes. I don't think a microwave sterilizer is necessary. Now I either hand wash them or use the dishwasher - the same goes for the pump parts.
No advice on the pitcher. I usually gently swirl the BM bottles since the milk tends to separate in the fridge. Plus, I always need to portion out the milk after I pump so while I try to be gentle, there's only so much I can do.

Thank you. Just looking for how to make things as simple as possible since I know taking care of a preemie and 2 year old will be nutty!

I only wash pump parts once a day. Keep them in the fridge in between sessions. Also - Get two sets of pump parts so one can go in dishwasher while the other is being used. Huge help for me.

Re: Need a crash course in bottle feeding
One bit of advice that the doctors and nurses gave us for our preemie....sometimes even with the smallest bottle nipples it's too much flow for the baby. In the beginning, we held the baby almost on her side and feed her sideways, it slowed the milk flow slightly so it wasn't too much at a time.
