Is 5 years old an okay age for the christmas spectacular?
DH mentioned taking DS into the city this year to see the tree and go to Radio City to see the Christmas Spectacular. I'm a little hesitant because I'm thinking he might be too young to enjoy/sit through it. For anyone who has done this with their DC's, what age do you think is appropriate?

Just my 2 cents - but I think stuff like this, boys are sometimes a lot different then girls. I have a vague recollection of going to Radio City as a kid and my brother sitting on his head in his seat because he was not interested. My nieces seem to love shows, but I really don't know how my 5 yo DS would be. He could surprise me, but just something to think about. If it was a Star Wars movie - yeah, he'd be down - but singing and dancing...I'm not sure.

We took my DD when she was 2.5 and she loooved it. It's 100% appropriate for a 5 year old!

I personally thought the show was horribly boring as an adult, so I wouldn't bring my kid.

We took ours at 2 & 3.5 last year. They are good with dinners, shows, etc. We had amazing seats. They were too young. They lost interest far too quickly. Heck, I wasn't crazy about it either. This year, we skipped it & went to big apple circus (which was awesome & much more captivating for them).

Took my son last year when he was five and he loved it. He got a little fidgety towards the end, it is a long show, but he made it through and really enjoyed it.

Depends on your kid - My 5 year old would sit when he was only 2
But my 3 year old won't sit for a million dollars.
Hopefully next year at 6/4

The show has changed, so it isn't the same one most of you saw when you were a kid. I enjoyed it, as did the rest of the group we were with. I believe it's also shorter now than it used to be (to pack more shows in and make more $$$ LOL)

My DS is 6 and I don't plan on bringing him this year. I'm lucky if he sits for a movie. Maybe next year.

Same here. He's been pretty good at the movie theater and he loved the Hoop Dee Doo revue at Disney so I have my fingers crossed that he'll make it through.

Re: Is 5 years old an okay age for the christmas spectacular?
Absolutely! We started going when my DD was 3 and my DS was 5. We went again at 4 and 6 and will go again this year. They both sat the entire time (well at 3 my DD danced in front of her seat a bit) and they both loved it! They were both mesmerized and look forward to it every single year!

Re: Is 5 years old an okay age for the christmas spectacular?
I would think that would be perfect.
When DD2 was 1.5, she was constantly saying "Kiss kiss a mack-a-tie." We had NO idea what the hell she was saying! About a year later, she would say "Kiss kiss tackala" when I finally figured it all out--she was saying Christmas Spectacular!! My girls watched the DVD of it all the time and were mesmerized...would mimic the routines, etc, from 1 and 2 years old. We finally took them live when they were 4 and 6 and they loved it!
We're taking our 4 year old for the 1st time this year though and I'm pretty worried...he's nothing like his sisters!
