Potty training while out

We just started potty training dd and she is doing really well. We were at the park today and she had to go but there wasn't a bathroom. What do you do in situations like that? I was thinking of maybe keeping a seat in the car but is there a better idea? What do you do while driving if DC needs to use the bathroom? Right now I just keep a diaper on her while out but I want her to learn to go without it.

I always did and still do keep a potty seat in the car. I have the pottete potty and I keep bags and wipes in the car, at that age when they have to go they have to go they can't hold it

Potty training while out

We just carried a folding toddler potty seat in a ziploc bag and would go somewhere if we had too. I didn't want to get in the habit of using a portable potty. Early on I would stick a pull up on if we were going out. After a bit they have a routine and it's pretty predictable IMO and I just tried to stick to places with bathrooms.

We stayed home for a while.
2 weeks full...
Then, we started with malls.
With parks and driving, a portable potty was in my bag & we would go anywhere.
No diapers.

Re: Potty training while out

I went out the day after my daughter started potty training. It was great. We kept a full size portable potty in the car and we carried the pottete plus everywhere we went. Now my son and daughter are both trained and we have a much better idea of how long they can make it but we love the pottette. Everyone with small kids should have one!
