We are just moving in to a new house, and I'm debating on splurging for a recliner. I thought it might be cute to be from dd - a place they can cuddle together.

I don't even think we are gonna do gifts this year. We never know what to give each other.. I'm buying anew vacuum and that can be my gift...

We stopped doing gifts for adults.
Best thing ever. We save lots of $ and end up getting ourselves something special around holiday time.
If anything, I'd have the kids make him something... Like an art project.

I wouldn't even think to do that. We have enough to buy and he knows anything "from DD" is from me anyway.
as it is I want to stop gifts on Xmas to all but kids. Way too much stress

My husband and I were talking about getting very small gifts for the kids to give us to open (shirt, candy, etc) then going to great wolf lodge for one night to spend some family time together as our gift to each other.

I don't know - I haven't thought of anything yet. I usually buy him something nice from the boys - something they're into. My older son is all hockey crazed now, so I was thinking of getting DH a jersey from the boys -
I refuse, absolutely REFUSE to not exchange gifts w/ DH. I spend a small fortune buying for all of these other people - some b/c I want to, some out of social/professional obligation - there is NO WAY i'm skipping on on giving my husband a gift for Christmas -

I got him a book that he loves reading to DD called My Dad. We got it from the library once and he's been asking me to buy it so I guess I'll have DD be the one to give it to him. Normally I wouldn't really worry about having something from her though.

nothing.
I just got a new PS4 for myself and so AJ got our PS3, done. Hubby has a $250 watch that he plays with and he needs new shoes, done
Our car needs to be fixed so that's $1300
I just cleared out my daughters room and literally found 6 unopened gifts from her bday in AUGUST! She opened up an xmas present just last month... from last YEAR! Nope, nothing fancy at all.
I'll fill her stocking. Let the family supply anything else if they want but I'm hoping for no toys!

Altho every year she does make him as special gingerbread cookie ;)

We dont do gifts from kids yet. They can do that when they get to school & buy a mug, frame etc. Whatever they sell at those kids sales.

Last year DD picked out a hallmark "Daddy" ornament for DH. This year she wants to get him a rocket because you have to be 8 to use it lol. She figured we should just get that for him. I like the idea of picking something that they can use together rather than say something just for him.
