Need help for nursery window!
I'm at such a loss! DD will have one window in her room of our new house. The sill is too narrow for an interior flush mount of anything, so I must do an exterior mount. Additionally, there is a radiator underneath the window, so I also can't go too long in anything.
All the blackout curtains I like are minimum 63" long, which is too long bc they will block the radiator... All the roman shades I like are too narrow or way too wide for the window width...I don't love the look of exterior mounted blinds or cellulars.
Any advice, photos, anything, please help!!

We have white wide blinds with sheer white floor length curtains in dds room-one of the windows is over a radiator but I have the curtains in between the radiator and the wall like I do ok the rest of the house. Could you do that?

Re: Need help for nursery window!
I would hang long drapes on an extended rod to pass the radiator. I forgot what they're called, but it sticks out like 4.75" to pass the radiator. You could tie them back during the day.

Hang the drapes higher than the window so when it hangs, it won't block the radiator. We hung ours a few inches higher and it makes them stand out.

I'd do this, or either hem the curtains (you can always bring them to a dry cleaners if you aren't up to doing it yourself) or just line different curtains with blackout material so you can determine the look and length

Re: Need help for nursery window!
We have blackout shades that roll down so they only cover the length of the window. Under that, we installed mini blinds so as DS gets older, we can just remove the black out shades.

Re: Need help for nursery window!
Thanks! The curtains I love have ruffles along the entire edge and bottom so I wasn't sure about hemming. But bringing them to a cleaners may be a good solution!

I had a similar issue with curtains in my last house. I had them hemmed.

Get custom black out shades from blinds to go, then hang the curtain rod higher and wider than the window and let the curtains hang on either side of the radiator for decorative use only. It will make the window look more substantial

Home Depot does custom wood slat blinds. You can also have curtains custom ordered too.
