How old
how old was your lo when they watched their first full length movie? DD is about to be 27 months old. She has seen some tv shows (mostly musical ones of just people singing and talking-- and sesame street episodes). She has seen football on tv and youtube clips (again mostly of songs). I was debating whether or not I should show her the winnie the pooh movie. common sense media says age 3. She is obviously just a little over 2. I am very strict with media, but I almost feel too strict. thoughts?

DD was obsessed with Aristocats around 18 months. That one and Fox and the Hound 2 were her favorites for a long time. They're both not much more than an hour so not too different than an episode of sesame street. I think those were the only movies she really sat through and seemed to really enjoy. At 2.5, she just saw frozen for the first time and she's totally obsessed. She sings the songs, quotes the characters, and acts parts out- usually in her princess outfit and tiara. She asks questions about what's going on and genuinely wants to understand it all so I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Not to mention sometimes toddlers just need a little down time just like we do.

Re: How old
I think sometime around age 2 she started watching some Disney movies at home. We took her to see frozen in the theater when she was 2.5

dS is 22 months and will sit and watch frozen in it's entirity. He was watching Monsters University around 16-18 months. He gets so glued to it if he enjoys it.

How old
about a year old. She'd watch the Yellow Submarine in its entirety 18m for sure she was watching on full length movies. I had a belief (HAVE a belief) that short shows like 30mins actually CREATE short attention spans. I also feel as they get older those 30min shows that are really just two 15min shows are not helping to teach story line, prediction, patience or building of characters and plots. So I just hate them in general. My compromise now is she watches 2-3 episodes of anything. So no less than an hour to hour and a half.
She used to say "But what's going to happen" and I would tell her 'sit still and WATCH'. We'd pause and I'd walk up to the TV and we'd talk about what the screen was showing, what she thought was happening, would happen. We'd ask what HAD happened. Didn't get really big answers but it was a start. Nowadays yes we get bigger deeper answers. Also helps us to prevent her from over embellishing a story ;)
