Animal Kingdom...worth it or not really?
I keep debating whether we should spend a day in Animal Kingdom or just use the extra day for MK. We will be there 4 days, and were planning to do 1 park each day but cant decide if AK is really worth it? Opinions?

It really depends on how old your kids are. IMO, you need at least 2 days for MK. I like AK and so did my daughter and it was easy to do and see everything within a day and have time that evening to go to another park.

We are taking the kids (4&2) for the first time & we are skipping AK this time. We are doing MK for 2 days, Epcot one day & Hollywood studios one day. I remember myself being bored at AK & my kids only like to look at animals for so long plus I'm not sure there are even rides for them to enjoy at their ages.

My kids like AK better than MK. They love animals and dinosaurs though.

My kids (who were 5 and 8 at the time) liked AK more than Epcot. We spent our shortest day there (left by 2 and that included Princess breakfast). I would plan 2 days at MK and tone day at AK and HS. You can go to Epcot at night for dinner and check out some of the stuff the kids like.

I love AK but I love the animals and I think my DS would love it...he loves zoos etc so I think it would be his favorite.

I think it really depends on your kids. I liked AK, didn't LOVE it. But we're going to Disney in a few months with DS who is 2 1/2 and he's obsessed with animals and dinosaurs. Every weekend when I ask him what he wants to do he says "see animals". So I decided we will take him to AK because I'm sure he will love it. But if your kids aren't really into zoos, I would probably skip it.

If you are only going for 4 days, I would skip AK and do two days at MK. My kids enjoy it, but not really for the animals. We see animals at the Zoo. They like the rides, the Dinosaur ride and area, etc.

It is a nice park but a half day park IMO. There are a few nice rides, the safari is great, but I get bored there after a few hours. It's worth seeing at least once though.

We really like AK- definitely more then HS. If you are there are rope drop you can definitely see most of the park and then so end the late afternoon and evening at MK.

Re: Animal Kingdom...worth it or not really?
We just did a 4 day trip and skipped AK. The first day we did the pool at the hotel then downtown Disney for dinner/evening, second day MK, third day HS/Epcot, fourth MK then Epcot for dinner. If you can get a reservation at one of the restaurants on the water and watch the firework show while you eat or have dessert, I highly recommend it!
I don't think HS is a full day park. We only went there for the Disney Junior and Frozen shows/characters. We were personally bored there. I might try to do AK/HS as part days. I love Epcot but that can definitely be a half day also.
I didn't think AK was a must do and figured we will go there next time.

I do agree that half day is sufficient. We always only tour for 3-5 hrs at a time though. We always go to a park at rope drop and leave a little after lunch. Depending on our trip, we'd go back to Epcot for dinner. We are not marathon park goers who go all day. We parents need a break more than the kids. When we stayed on the monorail, we'd go back to the parks because it was so convenient. Even when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge, we'd often not go back to the parks because we only had direct access to MK. Our kids like pool time too.
