WDW - Magic Kingdom with 18 month old
Im going down to Orlando to visit family and bringing my DS. He will be 18 months. Is it worth a day trip to Magic Kingdom with him or is he still too little to do anything? He would love Mickey but im not sure about anything else. TIA

If you have the time why not. Many will say no too young but I brought my DS when he was about 11 months and he loved it. Will he remember....probably not but the look on his face for the different rides etc were priceless IMO.
So much of MK is for kids of all ages.

We took dd to orlando when she was just shy of her 2nd bday... We chose NOT to go to any parks... And I'm very glad we didn't. We instead booked a character breakfast at chef mickeys bc the whole gang is there and she was beyond thrilled. That's all she needed... We also went to chip and dales campfire singalong where she met them and once again, was over the moon! We did other orlando activities like going to a zoo, and just exploring downtown disney... She rode a $2 train numerous times there and was happy!!! The zoo had a train ride as well... All thai was MUCH cheaper and made her day. We are going again when she will be almost 3 and are going to do MK for 2 days because I feel she'll get more out of it this time around (plus she's still free!)

He is free, so that's worth it!! Plenty to do at that age!

DD was there at 19 months and we had a great time together. You'd be surprised just how many rides your DS can go on. I say go for it! And like others have posted, he's still free!

Thank you everyone. Would you mind posting some of the things you did, and loved, and maybe some of the things you did and suggest I do not do? Thanks!!

DD loved our disney trip at 18 months. I think her favorites were it's a small world, enchanted tales with Belle, and meeting the Princesses and Fairies. She liked all the rides we did. The only thing DD didn't care for was the Tiki room.

Anything Princess related she loved especially the Little Mermaid ride. She also loved It's a small world, Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise, and of course Dumbo. We basically took her on everything except the Mountain rides (Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, & Splash Mountain). During this trip we only did MK and Epcot. At Epcot she loved the Nemo ride. There isn't a whole lot to do there for an 18 month old but we enjoyed walking around the countries and dinner at Akershus (with all the Princesses).
Go and have fun! DD has been to Disney at 10 months, 19 months, 27 months, and we are going next month for her 3rd bday. We have had a blast at each age. Just follow DS' cues and you'll have a blast. One thing that works for us is coming back to the room for naps. DD will not nap in the stroller. Never has. So we'd generally get to the park early, stay until lunch, then come back to the room for naps, then head back to the park afterwards. She was a much happier kid doing that.

Did this exactly-went to Orlando while DS was 18 months to visit family. I chose not to go to the parks mainly because I was by myself (DH was meeting us by the beach later) and didn't really think there that many attractions/rides he could get on. Instead we went to Chef Mickey's for dinner; and then had a character breakfast at Ohana (great). DS didn't really care for the characters LOL Cried every time Mickey came over. But it was still fun and a lot cheaper than doing the parks.

Re: WDW - Magic Kingdom with 18 month old
My 18 month old liked all of the rides..We did, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, its a small world, Aladdins carpet ride, Ariel, Peter pan, Even Pirates of the Carribean and the Haunted Mansion. My daughter LOVED it and was screaming and crying when the ride stopped!! She wanted it to keep going. haha! Every kid is different though and it depends on their mood that day! I lucked out at WDW!! The other parks!! She wasnt having any of it and was cranky..but glad WDW was her favorite to go to. Anyway I say try it..they are Free anyway..Oh and Mickey Mouse was Awesome!! She loved him too!! I was excited too because Mickey Now talks to you!! Love the new technology! Magical!

My DS is 18 mos and we are going to Disney for ten days this month. There is SO much to see and do that he will looooove it. And except for the big rides like Splash Mtn he is able to go on everything. I would definitely take your LO to Magic Kingdom!!
