FP Questions

We have never used the FP reservations before. This will be our first time with magic bands. The last time we went, they were still in final stages of testing.

If you make your FP reservations in the morning, can you make more from your phone for the evening after you use your 3 FP reservations?

Which 3 FP do you recommend most at each park?

I think we are doing the following:

HS - Toy Story Mania, Star Wars, Frozen Sing A Long

EP - Soarin, Figment into Imagination, Spaceship Earth

MK - Dumbo, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

AK -Safari

When we went in May you had to book the 4th, etc from a kiosk but could then change it on your phone.

Definitely do TSM. Right now they are doing a test of FP ONLY for TSM (no standby) so I would do that to be safe. Skip dumbo it us easy to get a FP for that. I would go with speedway (cars), Peter Pan, or 7 drawfs mine train instead.

You cannot book a 4th from your phone. Wish they would fix that, but you still have to go to the kiosk.

I would not waste a fastpass on Dumbo, there is rarely a wait anymore now that they have two of them running.

I would do Peter Pan, Mine Train, Enchanted Tales IF your boys really like Belle. If not, I would do something else like the Speedway (line is always long there).

You don't need a FP for Figment into imagination. I've never waited on a line for more than 5 mins on that.

In epcot I would use FP for Soarin, Mission Space or Test Track.

FP Questions

My DS (almost 5) wasn't a huge fan of Soarin at Epcot - he preferred Test Track.

We went in September - the week of the Jewish holidays and the rides that we felt we got benefit from Fast Passes were:

MK:
Peter Pan
Splash Mountan
Thunder Mountain Railroad

I would add the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to the list but, there were no fast passes available when we went. We did fast passes for the speedway too but, the stand by line had the same wait at the time.

AK:
Safari

HS:
Toy Story Mania
Frozen Sing Along
Disney Jr Show

I wasn't a huge fan of the Frozen sing along though - it's two people who tell the Frozen story and then they play the music with the words on the screen. My kids like Frozen, love the music but, were extremely bored. You don't need one for the Disney Jr show but, it was nice to show up just a little bit before it started and walk right in. We were able to walk right into Star Tours multiple times.

Epcot:

Test Track

We got to the park at rope drop and went straight to Soarin with no line. We had fast passed Test Track since I thought DS would enjoy it more (and he did). We had fast passes for other things but, didn't use them.

They tier there so you can only pick one of the more popular rides and then 2 of the ones you probably wouldn't need a fast pass for anyway.

Do you think they would let 5yo on with DH or me if DH and I do FP for Test Track and Soarin?

I don't know how strict they are with the bands. No one seemed to care how many actual passes we had when we used FP (old kind) for Toy Story Mania. DS was only 4 then though so probably could pass as 3 years old even though he had his own ticket.

Our younger 3yo DS won't be able to ride Soarin or test Track so one parent would have to wait elsewhere anyways.

They didn't check for DS (almost 5). A lot of times we didn't even use his fast pass - just mine and DH's. DS is small though so he could've passed for 3 as well.

Just to clarify - they did not check even though your DS had a magic band on his wrist?

We just watched the Frozen sing a long on you tube and it did look a little boring. Maybe we will skip Frozen Sing a Long. We are going to see Frozen Disney on Ice next weekend. I think the boys may enjoy the Frozen snow play area better.

He didn't have it on - we had the cards since we were staying offsite. He probably wouldn't have worn it anyway.

They probably assumed he was under 3 then. Everyone has to scan their band for FP, they were actually sticklers about it when we went in the Summer. That's why the lines are so long for FP return times, because people try to get someone on without a FP, or they try to get on too early or too late.

Everyone must have a FP but if DS 3yrs can't ride you could do DH and DS 5 at Test track and you and DS 3 FP soarin. Then your DS 5 can ride both ride...just trade the boys bracelets.

also with a small kid there are passes you can get that allow you to come back - check the website -they were great - everyone shows up at the line and one parent and kid ride the ride. the other parent and kid go do something else then after everyone meets up then other parent can take that first kid back on the ride. did it lots plus then you can get 2 teir one rides - one for one parent and one for the other parent - kid goes twice on one ride..

we also swapped bands between users they did not question so if little kid can't use the ride but there is no other fps you want for them then pass to older kid
