back to work and supply taking a hit
For the first two weeks i was back to work my i was pretty pleased with my pumping output but this week it has gradually started going down. All things are pretty much the same. I nurse DS in the morning before I leave and then every 3 hours while at work and then I nurse him on demand when i get home til he falls asleep and then i nurse usually once in the night.
We are already supplementing so i am not concerned about lost ounces for him to eat I am not ready to stop nursing yet so will i still have the milk he needs when i am actually nursing him or is my decreased pumping a sign that its all going down hill?

Re: back to work and supply taking a hit
what you get while pumping is not an indication of what you are getting when you are actually nursing. the baby does a much better job getting milk then the pump does.
have you tried changing the membranes of your pump? this sometimes help
your supply can also dip when y ou are about to get your period - not sure if that is a possibility
def dont give up - drink plenty of water, try eating oatmeal, fenugreek etc

I'm down to making 12 oz a day and I'm not giving up yet! As long as something is coming out, I keep going, especially as winter approaches.

I dont want to and dont plan on giving up.
I did just switch the membranes and I try to have oatmeal at least 5 days a week. I just dont want it to be the start of the end is all

Mothers milk tea. I pumped from when dd was 4mos till 18mos. By 18mos 3x a day made only 3.5 oz which was one bottle. But by then she was on solids at daycare mostly. And I nursed before and after. You can do it! It sucks but she'll need less when you're at work the older she gets.

I pump in the morning before DS gets up to keep up my supply. I usually pump between 12-16 ounces depending if I pump 3 or 4 times a day. At daycare, he eats between 12-16 ounces. You could pump in the evening after your lo goes to bed but by that point in the day I am done.
