Daycare Lunch Problems
Looking for any ideas you might have...
My DD is almost two and a fairly good eater. At daycare she usually eats a good breakfast at 9AM and then almost no lunch at noon. Then they have snack at 3PM which she always eats. On the weekends and days off, we give her breakfast around 9 and then a later lunch with no snack and she will eat what we give her. The daycare obviously can't change the time and give her meals at different times. Any ideas?

Re: Daycare Lunch Problems
If she is hungry she will eat. I know that's not terribly helpful, but as long as you're sending something you know she likes, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
DD sometimes comes home with almost all of her lunch still in the lunchbox and sometimes she scrapes the dish clean. I could probably get her to eat more if I send it more junk-food type lunches, but honestly I'd rather her eat nothing than an unhealthy lunch.
I'd just offer a very light, healthy snack after daycare to hold her over until dinner.
ETA - If she is eating at snack time send in a heartier, protein rich snack for her so at least she's getting something between lunch and dinner.

Re: Daycare Lunch Problems
Do you send the food in? Maybe you can ask them to give her the lunch at snack time and vice versa. She might not be that hungry at lunch time.

Daycare Lunch Problems
Honestly I don't worry about it. My theory is that if he eats 2 good meals then I don't care about the 3rd.

Re: Daycare Lunch Problems
Maybe send in a yogurt that she can have with the afternoon snack to bulk it up a little more. Or string cheese, etc.
