Interviewing babysitters
What type of questions do you ask? Can I ask to see or make a copy of their drivers license?

Re: Interviewing babysitters
I would do a background check to obtain the abstract via the DMV. It is so important to check this out, what if the person was arrested for DWI in the past? God only knows, you can never be too safe! You would have to have them provide you with their DL identification number and there are several services online where you can have the search done. A lot of times, places like Sittercity or Care.com will allow you to request one through their site – using a site like that to find a babysitter is great because they do the background and DMV check for you... It is easy because it is less work for you!
I mean, you could ask about experience with children, if they are first aid and/or CPR certified, if they are a smoker or a non-smoker seems to be a big question that I have heard people ask before. You could also just get a sense of their personality. You are going to want to ask what their outlook is on discipline – how would they handle a situation where the child misbehaved? Do they believe in “time out” or do they believe in some other form of correcting their behavior? If so, what is that method?
