Another Q for moms of catnappers...
So, I have posted before that DD takes 1/2 hr naps, occassionally more, but you could almost set a clock to it. Lately she is crankier than usual during the day and it's so frustrating b/c she doesn't want to be put down or left alone (unless it's in front of Einstein DVD). Are your babies cranky often? She is happy in general but gets cranky so soon after she wakes from these catnaps. Sorry so long.

It sounds like she's cranky because she's overtired. Let's play 20 questions, or rather 4 What time does she wake up? What time are her naps? How long are they? What time does she go to bed.

Yup, she is tired alright... She wakes up usually around 6:30 but can be as early as 5:30 or late as 7... Her morning nap is about 2- 2 1/2 hrs after she wakes up and is anywhere from 30 min to 1 hr (usually 30 or 40 min). The rest of the naps are about every 2 hours for 1/2 hr. She goes to bed 7:30-7:45ish...

Sounds EXACTLY like my girl. Slowly she is getting better and her naps are less frequent and longer. She was always cranky and tired because she wasn't getting enough sleep. I don't know how to fix it- she just kind of changed gradually.

I remember you had a similar situation, so glad it got better for you.

Yeah, this is pretty much how Ava is. I've just accepted it as who she is for now.

my DS is like that - every 2-2.5 hrs, i just try to put him back to bed, after his little cat naps, i try to take him out for a bit and then hope to get a better "next" nap out of him. he gets borde and over-tired @ the same time

It's funny, I go thru spurts of accepting it and then spurts of frustration. Her new thing is letting out high pitched screams when she starts to get cranky, literally blows out my ears.

DD is a cat napper... Usually falls asleep after I nurse her anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes.

Is he smiling when he's doing this?

she is a VERY happy baby for the most part, but since she catnaps, she's not getting enough sleep throughout the day, so she'll get cranky after an hour of being awake.
I wish it would stop she sleeps GREAT at night, always has since she was 4 weeks.
