BTDT Potty Training
Was anyone successful with daytime training but still relied on overnight diapers? Is it terrible of me if I want to try potty training with her and can deal with it during the day but want the safety net of no accidents during the night? She still always wakes up with a full diaper. I know I read mixed theories on whether this is "normal" or "absolutely takes away from true potty training". Any experience, advice or info?

BTDT Potty Training
I did the 3 day potty training when DD was a little over 2 years old I followed it to the tee for even at night well she got during the day no problem but at night she was still peeing the bed more than once and still woke up drenched so I finally gave it and put her in pullups for overnight I called it her special underwear. I am now finally at almost 4 trying to get night time training done with!

I would try nighttime and if it doesn't work then use pull-ups.
My ds was waking with a full diaper all the time but as soon as we started potty training he stayed dry at night too.
Just kinda roll with whatever works for your child.

Re: BTDT Potty Training
DD is fully potty trained while she is awake, and at night time we use diapers. On occassion she tells me she want to use the bathroom while asleep (we cosleep) and I take her but still she ends up going in the diaper atleast once or twice. I'm not stressing it, she drinks milk right before bed so that could be the reason.

Yes, I am currently dealing with this. My son has been day trained 100% since 2 years 9 mos. He will turn 4 on October 26th and still wears a pull-up aka "nighttime underwear" to bed. He wakes up wet 90% of the time. You know what? I don't even care!

The urge to pee just doesn't wake some kids up--its based on maturity and they can't help it. It will come with time and age. So what's the point in having them wake up soaked EVERY night and having wet pj's/sheets. Its a hassle as a parent and the child feels bad.
So yes, I'd allow a night diaper/pullup with no issues. They will outgrow it eventually.

Re: BTDT Potty Training
I did the 3-day method and went out and got GoodNights with tinker bell on them. We told DD they were big girl underwear to wear to bed at night only.
The 3-day method worked bc you cut off liquids at a certain point (I think 2-3 hours before bedtime) and she always woke up dry in the morning. We used them for a month and then allowed her to keep her regular underwear on overnight.
She had a couple regressions when my new DS was born, but otherwise she stays dry.
Don't force overnight on the child unless they want to give it a try, other wise they will see negative associated with something good!
DD was 2 years, 9 months when we potty trained her.

DS is completely day trained, but wears pull ups at night. He'll be 4 in a couple of weeks. He wakes most morning with a full pull up. He also likes to drink water at bedtime, so I know that's the reason why he's waking up wet, but how can you refuse him water? So I'll try again to break the water habit when he's a little older. For now, I'm ok with the pull ups.

Re: BTDT Potty Training
DS was about 2.5 when he was potty trained during the day. I kept him in pull-ups at night because he would wake up wet. We started to limit liquids at night and after a few weeks he started waking up dry. After about a month of that I switched to underwear at night. I wouldn't worry about the nighttime diapers. IMO they will wake up dry when they are ready. At least they are trained during the day!
