BOO AT THE BRONX ZOO
We had a good time when we went last year. DS was two. Just to warn you, like any place outdoors that time of year, the yellow jackets were relentless. We had to eat lunch in the car.

Yes it is. We go every year. It is all non scary things. Let your child wear a costume many kids wear them. Never had problems with yellow jackets at boo at the zoo. August or early September we have had issues but not at boo at the zoo. We always pack lunch rather than buy it.

It's not scary. There are decorations. Some people dress & others don't (most don't). Def cute... But not too much Halloween.

We had packed lunch too and had planned on eating it outside. We saw people swatting everywhere we went and tried to give DS strawberries and had to put them away. This was mid-October. It was unseasonably warm that day so maybe that was why.

We might just be lucky. It could be location too. I find the one near the camels has more yellow jackets than say the one by the giraffes/4d movie. And the main one less than the one by the children's zoo. I will say we ate there twice in August with none at all.
