If you have 4 kids..
How many bedrooms do you have? We really want to try for baby number 4, but are realizing that we might be being selfish about it. We only have 3 bedrooms, and while they are rarely ever in their rooms now, they are still young so maybe when they are older they will be in their rooms more?
Financially we are good to have as many kids as we want, but we don't want to move so that obviously has to limit how many kids lol. I don't want my kids resenting us down the line because they have to share. Right now it's set up that my oldest son is by himself and my girls are sharing.
Id love some advice, or btdt moms to chime in please! I know we are beyond blessed and I hate to sound like I'm not happy or something because that's not the case, it's just that we don't feel done.
Tia!

If you have 4 kids..
I am one of five. I literally shared a room with my sister from the day she was born until the day I got married (except for when I was in college). My 2 brothers also shared a room for 20+ years. My youngest sister always had her own room. I personally loved sharing a room.

Re: If you have 4 kids..
I'm one of 3 kids, grew up in a 3br house... I shared a room with my older sister growing up, I didn't mind, but when she got to the "teenage" stage she wanted me out lol.

Re: If you have 4 kids..
I only have three kids, but we have three bedrooms. Like you, my girls share and my son has his own (he's the baby).
Your kids are already sharing, so what's the difference? Hopefully, you'll have another boy so there are no hard feelings.
Anyway, if we were to have had four kids, we would have converted our attic into a bedroom. It's already finished, so it wouldn't be a huge hassle; in fact, down the line we plan on converting it anyway--we'll make two rooms and then that way we can turn one of our existing bedrooms into an office. My cousin is planning on four (has three currently) and finished her attic this summer. The number of bedrooms I have wouldn't be a major deciding factor on the number of kids I would have...

Re: If you have 4 kids..
I'm so happy reading positives thoughts, thank you! I was 1 of 3, but I had my own room and my brothers shared, I hated being alone and my brothers hated sharing haha so I needed some other views!
We do have a few spaces we could convert to more rooms down the line, but I wasn't sure how I'd feel with kids on different floors. I actually never thought about the attic, I'm going to have to talk to DH about that because I wouldn't mind them higher up, but I wonder if it's even possible in our home.
Again thank you all, we were obviously leaning towards trying for #4 but I think I needed a push to hear it was ok haha.

Re: If you have 4 kids..
I was one of four growing up. (2 , 2 ) I shared a room with my sister until I was 9, and we moved from a 3br apartment to a 5br house. We all had our own room and a common playroom. Having 3 siblings was so much fun!
If you have a boy, your oldest has to share, and I personally don't think that 2 kids in a good-sized room is the end of the world. But if you have another girl, is the girl's room big enough for 3?

Re: If you have 4 kids..
My sister has four and they only had three bedrooms for a bit. She had 3 girls all in one room for a year. Then they added a fourth bedroom downstairs, so the oldest moved down there, the 2 oldest girls share (and always have) and the baby is in the nursery.
You make it work and your kids won't know any different.

See I'm not really sure if it's big enough, because it doesn't have a walk in closet. The actual room itself can fit three twin beds and a dresser, or some type of bunk bed etc. but girls have soo many more clothes than boys because of different options so the closet makes me nervous. In a perfect scenario our 4th would be a boy, but obviously have no way of guaranteeing that.
It's possible that down the road we will buy a bigger house, but we just love our area and the house itself. We thought about adding onto the back because we have a big yard, but I don't see us doing that in the next year when we will start trying. Should have bought bigger in the first place

4 dc in a 3br apartment. It is fine. In fact, I was casually talking about moving recently and my 7yo ds got upset and told me he never ever wanted to move out of his home! I don't think it bothers kids anywhere near as much as it bothers us!

If you have 4 kids..
I grew up in a 3 bedroom house with 3 sisters. so 4 girls. Honestly? I hated it. Maybe bc I was the youngest and alwasy got the short end of the stick lol. As a kid I remember always wanted my own room just to "get away" from the 3 older ones. And forget about it during the teenage years. My sister and I would fight NON STOP! I mean, hey we lived through it and I love all my sisters to death but I personally wouldnt want that for mine or my kids sanity lol. It was even rough for any of us to have friends over or sleepovers. Just not for me

If you have 4 kids..
I only have 3 kids and a 3 bedroom house. My b/g twins are almost 4 and the baby is 2. Right now I have all 3 in 1 bedroom. I don't like the way my house is set up so I am not comfortable putting one in the third bedroom. We plan on moving soon but the boys will share a room for quite a while and my dd will have her own room. Right now they all love being together.
