Do they start at 3 or 4? Just curious

"Preschool" is usually 3
"Pre k" is usually 4
But there are programs that refer to themselves as preschools that do 2s, 3s & 4s.
Ours is 3, 4 mixed (along w 5s).

my daycare/preschool follow the school rules so they move them to preschool when they turn 3 and they have to turn 3 by December 1st then prek is 4 and again you have to be 4 by December 1st.

Though last year they decided to move my DD class (all of 5 kids) to preschool in March cause they felt they were all advanced enough to deal with it and they were all 3 by then so she got an extra half year of preschool cause of it.

This year she started Preschool again she will turn 4 in Jan. and then next school year she starts PreK.

My 2.5yo goes three mornings a week.
My 4yo twins go five mornings a week.

You can start your children in preschool at two, three or four. Or not at all.

I put my older DS in preschool at 3. I just started my younger guy at 2.

2.5 DS has been in preschool. The mommy and me classes had a preschool so was there since he wasa 1.5 then did transition at 2 and at 2.5 started preschool three days a week

We started my DD at 4. She went to a UPK program 5 days a week for 2.5 hours. DS will probably do the same, they now have full day 5 days 9-3.

We chose not to do sooner because they also go to daycare part time and get plenty of socialization.

Pre school is 3
Pre K is 4

DS started preschool 3 months before he turned 3 and Pre-k 3 months before he turned 4.

My Son started at 2 years old doing 2 days a week (2 1/2 hours each day)

At 3 did 3 full days a week

Now at 4 he is doing 5 full days a week

both my girls started at 2.5. It was a 3 year old program

I find in the more affluent communities kids start at 2. But the vast majority, that I know, start at 3.

My dd just started now at 2.
Not affluent btw. Haha. Really need it more to give grandma a little break with her and her cousins. She is going 3 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs per day.

My twin boys will be 3 at end of October. We just started.
Pre K will be at 4yr old

Both my sons started a program at 2 years old. They went to nursery and pre-K programs at the same place (3s and 4s). DS is a Nov birthday, so he was 2 and 3 when he started those programs.
