speech evaluation
Did someone come to your house for the initial meeting or did you have to bring your child someplace for the meeting? I am in Nassau County.

I had to go down to the county for my initial meeting with the EIOD. I am in Nassau County. For the evaluation, the evaluators came to the house to evaluate my DS.
ETA I didn't have my DS with me when I went to the county but I'm sure if you have your LO with you, then they will come to you.

speech evaluation
Everyone came to me and his speech eval was done right in my living room. Took about an hour. This was for EI.
ETA: Even his EIOD and Service Coordinator came to my house.

For the initial meeting I know someone where they came to her, and another where they had to go to the DOH. Depends on who you are assigned to as a coordinator.
All of the evals i have heard of happen in the home.

That's where they told me we'd have to go. I assume I bring my daughter with me?

Not to the first meeting. That's just a short social history and they explain the process, and you sign consent and select a provider. I'm sure if you have dd with you, it's fine but not ncessary

Fine to bring her but def unnecessary. The place is usually mobbed. I was glad i didnt bring my ds.
