No to new shoes
Ok so clearly some gene did not get passed down from me - my dd (21 mos.) REFUSES to wear new shoes. She can't articulate well, but I'm pretty sure it's because they are not HER shoes. I've tried just leaving them around the house, putting them on her dolls. Making a big deal, making not a big deal. She still kicks, screams, and pulls them off when I even just try to put them on. Anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts?!

No to new shoes
Does she pick them? I mean do you let her shop for them herself

Re: No to new shoes
Are you sure it's not because new shoes tend to be stiffer and fit a bit different than shoes that are broken in?

Re: No to new shoes
DD was the same way but not to such an extreme. I just opened the shoes in front of her. Made a big deal that they were HER new shoes and then insisted that she bring me the new shoes anytime she wanted the old shoes. eventually it stuck and now she considers the new pair part of the collection. thats always what i had to do but it never took more than a few days to get her in them.

Re: No to new shoes
The fit will definitely be different, especially as she's moving from the step 2 to step 3. But she won't even let me get them on her feet, so she doesn't even know yet the fit will be different. I guess that will be the next drama, lol.
