Help me with my christmas wish list
So, DD will be a little over 2 years old when Christmas arrives. She is kind of the kid that has it all. She already has so much stuff. She's spoiled. For Christmas the in-laws insist on a large wish list and always want to spend money on her. The problem is, my tradition is 1 gift a night at hanukkah and that leaves them with little suggestions left. I want it to have some meaning and not just be junk. The one big gift I'm going to ask for is a piece of furniture. I wanted them to get potty training stuff but DH said we should get that ourselves because it's not a fun gift to open and that it's "weird". So that is out. I also wanted to ask for money towards activities like lessons and classes but that is also like asking for money/cash and voted out by DH. So I'm down to some clothes, some arts and crafts stuff, books and a piece of furniture. That is still a lot in my opinion but I am just open for suggestions.

Re: Help me with my christmas wish list
We have the same issue with Hanukkah. My boys are 5 and 3 now and this year DH and I are getting them the mini Ipad for Hanukkah. We have always done a gift a night, but that's big enough. We never spent a fortune for this holiday before. They may get small stuff like arts and crafts, books, etc. We got a great deal on the mini.
With that said if your IL's want to do something big the rollercoaster the PP said is great. Still at 5 and 3 my boys play with it. More so when other kids are over. My IL's and parents gave us money towards classes for the boys and gave them some toys to play with. At that age you can get a ton of inexpensive stuff and a check to you for a special class. You can even have grandma take her to the class.

Help me with my christmas wish list
How about a membership to the museums, park, aquarium or zoo etc? This way, they can enjoy it with her if they decide to go.

Help me with my christmas wish list
This is what I have on my almost 2.5 year old's list. We'll only get her a few things and the rest will be suggestions for others. We went on vacation recently and the house we rented had tons of toys so some of the ideas were things she loved playing with there.
Melissa and Doug train set Lego Duplos (Supermarket and number train sets) Piggy bank toy mixer M&D sort and snap set Doc McStuffins mic with stand Doc Mc Stuffins play tent wooden doll high chair doll carseat possibly a playdough set puzzles and books

Re: Help me with my christmas wish list
I have no wish list - I just tell people what my DD is into and let them buy whatever.
That being said - big gift this year is the Step 2 Studio Art Desk - my ILs will be getting that.
I think our gifts to DD will be the Doc McStuffins rolling check up center, something Frozen related, clothes with characters on them (she really wouldn't care about leggings or sweaters LOL), and books. I think I may get a CD player for her room too.

Re: Help me with my christmas wish list
DD will be 2 a week before Christmas. I definitely think this Christmas will be all about doll stuff (she already has a corolle mon premiere doll that she adores, so a high chair, stroller, clothes, feeding stuff), art supplies (easel, crayons, markers, stamps, stickers), and maybe some dress-up clothes. She's really starting to get into all of these things. A lot of those are little things, that could probably spread out nicely over the 8 days of Chanukah.
You could also ask for some outdoor stuff for summer, like a tee-ball set, basketball hoop, tricycle.

Re: Help me with my christmas wish list
Can you try talking to DH again about them paying for dance class or something. My parent and ILs have paid for experiences for DD and it's helpful to Us and fun for DD bc she loves going to dance and everyone enjoys how much she enjoys it and it's not another toy in the living room.
