Do you buy for every half size?
We get him 2 pairs (sneakers and a seasonal shoe, like boots, sandals, etc) every time we hit stride right and it gets costly.
Where else do you get kids' shoes? I think I need to break out of the stride right mentality.

I have skipped half sizes. Especially this time of year when she's going from sandals to sneakers with socks. I always do stride rite for her main shoes and then maybe another pair or two from elsewhere (payless, BRU)

I often skip half sizes also. In addition to stride Rite I also buy Naturino and Pediped shoes. They have amazing support for growing feet. I always find at Century 21. Sometimes if I am desperate I order from Zappos.

I skip half size. A lot of stores don't even have the half size. I did stride rite for her first pair but never again. $50 for a pair of toddler sneakers? No thanks. I've had luck at target and Payless

Re: Buying shoes
I tend to get stride rite from shoebuy.com when they have a 25 or 30% off offer. I was able to get dress shoes last week for about $20.

I skip half sizes and buy only his main pair of shoes at stride rite. Other things, sandals, boots, dressier shoes, I buy at marshals or somewhere like that

Depends what size she measures when we go, but usually we skip half sizes. Some of the baby girl sizes are closer together than others (an eighth of an inch or a quarter inch). Not sure about kids sizes.

This.
And now that DD is 3, I've started getting her shoes from Zulily when they have amazingly cute/ stylish shoes at great prices and I don't worry so much about the brand.

I only did Stride Rite for the first year that she was wearing shoes. Now I buy all her shoes at Payless. DD loves shoes so she always wears a different pair, different color, different sparkles. Payless don't last, but by the time that she's worn them out it's time for the next size anyway.

Re: Buying shoes
We always skip half sizes, I find they get more use out of the shoes that way. 95% of their shoes come from Target, the rest from Payless or Sketchers.

Re: Buying shoes
I just bought school sneakers and I bought the half size. They measured 9- 19 1/2 and I felt the 10 was too big I bought them at sketchers
