Club Med Sandpiper combined with Disney trip?
DH & I are expecting twins in March, so we would like to take our 2 boys on a nice family vacation before chaos reigns. The doctor will not allow me to travel past 26 weeks, so we are thinking of planning a very last minute trip- late Sept/early Oct. Ds # 1 is 3, DS # 2 is 18 months. We were thinking of flying down to Orlando, doing 3 nights at Disney, staying on the monorail since it will be a short visit, and then renting a car, driving to Club Med, and staying 4-5 nights there. Has anyone ever done this? I see the drive is about 2 hours, which isn't that bad. Will it be warm enough for a "beach" vacation at that point? Any reviews on Sandpiper? And any suggestions on a monorail hotel with two young children? TIA!

Did you make sure there were monorail hotels available? I was literally just on the site, but nothing was available for the end of September...oddly! It's HOT in September at Disney, even hot in October, so weather should be fine. I personally wouldn't do Club Med though. It's not on the beach, and for what they charge, it should be. It also doesn't look super kid fun to me. I know my kids would be bored. I would stay at a resort with fun pools, etc. before I went there to be honest. OR I would find a resort ON the beach.

Thanks for your reply. We are now thinking of doing 4 nights at Disney followed by 3-4 nights in Jupiter. Grand Floridian is available for the week we were looking to go, I need to book this week though!

I think that sounds like a great plan, and the Alice in Wonderland themed water area is adorable at the Grand Floridian!

What about clearwater beach? I hear great things about that area and its probably about 2 hours from disney as well.
