Not enough on my registry

So, my invites finally went out. I don't know when the shower is, but I know that my mom has been getting complaints from some people...family members of course. They are saying that there are not enough "big" things on my registry. The reason I don't have so many "big" things is becuase my mom already bought me the stroller and we already bought the bedding because the one we liked was not carried at BRU.

My mom told them to buy me the little things...like the sheets and stuff like that. She even had one silly response of "I like to walk in with a big box, not a bunch of little things." Chat Icon So my mom said "put all the little things in one big box and problem solved." Chat Icon

Well, my thing is that I really don't want to add things just to add them, then end up not using them. I already went and added a whole bunch of toys, just to add things. I want people to get me the sheets and all that stuff that I need.

Sorry, vent over Chat Icon

my mom keeps yelling at me to do the same. but there is really nothing else "big" to add. i dont want to just add stuff i dont really want or need either.

the only thing i think i may put on tonight is the take along swing. i know i already got the big one but i guess that will be good for traveling??? but i thought i could have used the bouncy for that.

so confusing!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Do you have a swing, highchair, pack & play, bouncer, and exersaucer? These are big ticket items which you will need.Chat Icon

Yep, all that except the exersaucer. I really don't have room to store such a big box and also I got a jumparoo thing, so I would like to try and skip the exersaucer, if possible. But, if I feel that I need that down the road, I will get it. I know two people who registered for it, got it then their baby had NO interest whatsoever. At that point, they couldn't return it because the time passed. I don't want that to happen to me.

Thanks! Chat Icon

Re: Not enough on my registry

I went through the same thing and at the end of my shower, I still didnt really get most of the little stuff b/c everyone wanted to walk in with a big box.

One person who bought the morning of my shower when there was ONLY little things left, wound up buying a laundry basket and filling it with sheets and things.

I registered for toys like Laugh and Learning Home and big items like that which were bought right up. I wouldnt just register for anything figuring you could return it for credit b/c some in-law or something could get it and then be looking for it.

I know you dont have a lot of room- why cant guests just suck it up and buy that changing cover you need or whatever?

Re: Not enough on my registry

I have the same problem- i think we only have like two "big things" left and a gate- which I don't think anyone will get.
but I do need sheets and things- so I hope people do go for those things- unfortunately- a lot of those things are only available in store.

Re: Not enough on my registry

Add the big box items....then you can always return something you don't need/want and buy all the little things.

Re: Not enough on my registry

Put some random stuff on there, let people buy it, return it, get a BRU gift card and use it to buy diapers, formula, wipes, etc after baby is born.

Re: Not enough on my registry

Did you register at BRU? If so, register for that Photo package. I did, and I know I will make use of that!
