Anyone not go away this summer?
We went to Disney for a a week in May but other than that we havent gone away at all this summer and i feel guilty lol. We were supposed to go to cape cod a few days but FIL got sick and now school starts in less than 3 weeks and we did nothing. 
Anyone else?

We were scheduled to go away for the 4th of July but my mother passed away. We could only reschedule for mid September so it will be a late summer vacation. We haven't been away tis year at all yet.

I am sorry for your loss.
We haven't gone away at all and probably won't for a long time. My husband got a new job at the beginning of last summer and he doesn't get time off when I have time off :( So unless I go away alone with the kids, its probably not happening :(

We didn't go away at all this summer bc we have a newborn. I feel bad for my older DD but we really don't have a choice. We will try to make up for it next year

We did that last summer. Went to Disney/Cruise in April so that was our vacation budget for the year.
It did make it a longer summer than normal, but we tried to do some more local stuff, trip to the city, adventurland, montauk, etc. make it feel more like vacation even when its not.
Dont feel guilty! No reason. I barely went on vacation my whole childhood!

We usually go to Montauk and take our little guy to beaches aquariums parks etc
This July, though, we had baby #2 and we've been on lockdown
 feel bad for my big guy

We didn't go away either but did a lot of remodeling to the house. We got our LO a tiny pool and have taken her places like parks and day trips and I can honestly say we've had a great time bc we've been busy (eventho we didn't go anywhere)... I actually saw an e-card the other day that said "It's totally acceptable to sit in a kiddie pool in your backyard and pretend you're at a resort." This was so me LOL!!! I was sitting there splashing water on myself- closed my eyes and for a few moment envisioned myself on a beach LOL!!!!
With that being said- no pity party here ladies! There's one reason or another why we didn't go away- yes it stinks but I'm sure we have all tried to make our summer fun one way or another. There's always next summer!! I already said I'm def going away next summer- lol

We don't go away in the summer usually cause we do so much beach and boat time in the summer. I have my vacation planned for next month.

We only did 4 days in FL but other than that nothing..it was a pretty boring summer for me honestly. I hope to make up for it in the fall/winter.

No vacation in 2 years! Bought a house this summer instead. We'll take DS to Disney in a few years, and hopefully a family cruise, but I'd rather save for the house than take a vacation at this point in our lives.

I also agree, I think average is one vacation a year and doesn't matter when. Disney is a huge trip!!
We didn't go away last year and a few years back we didn't go anywhere for like 3 years. Some years we can go on vacation, other years we can't. I don't feel guilty because everyone is taken care of and we do things like pumpkin picking and eating out or parties.

We didn't go away either. I've been busy taking care of my grandmother who was diagnosed with cancer. I'm hoping in the fall we will get to do something with the kids. It's been a boring summer for them and I feel bad.

We don't really travel during the summer. I prefer the beaches around here and we like to boat also. I save vacations for during the school year when we really need a break.

Well, we didn't vacation, but we moved from LI to AZ 3 wks ago, so it's kind of like we went away. We just aren't coming back this time.

No trips here except we're doing a quick weekend on the Cape next week. It's not even a trip we planned really, we are going for DH's family friend's 80th birthday party. I sucked it up and spent a fortune on a hotel for two nights because I want some family alone time.
DH and I used to travel all the time prior to DD and I miss it. I just find it hard going away with a LO but for my own sanity, think I need to get over it!
