daycare poll included
Update: We made it official, leaving him in current daycare. Thanks all!!
sort of long sorry
So we finally bought a house!! And we are moving late this month and the original plan was to move DS to a daycare that is super close to the house. I like it there, I toured when he was smaller, but there was no openings.
His current daycare is halfway between home and my job. I am the only one who takes and picks up daily. My husband will do so when its an emergency, but not often as its out of the way for him. (a bit- nothing nuts)
So the thing is... i didn't realize the price goes down when DS enters preschool at his daycare, over a hundred less per month. This starts in Sept if we stay.. so down from 1190 to 1080...
His current daycare is open from 6:30am-7pm and you can use any hours you want for the same price. So if I work early once a month it doesn't matter if we just show up early.
New daycare his hours are strict and if we go over in am or pm its going to end up costing us more money, we may need to add time in am and pm if we find we can't get home soon enough so that would bring daycare up from 1080 a month @ old daycare with flexible hours to 1212 without flexible hours, or 1395 with flexible pm hours. With both am and pm hours it would be over 1500 a month
both include food and drinks...we just supply diapers, wipes, clothes.
I adore the flexibility for when I need more time to do something or I adjust my time at work. also he loves the teachers and friends at current daycare. Not to mention the money would help us
the only part of new daycare I love is its closeness to home. DS will spend 45 mins in car ride home with me from old daycare on a bad night it has been an hour. He is fine with it, but I wonder if its bad for him at all.
i am leaning towards staying at old daycare and DH is leaning towards moving him....
help!!

no vacation time in new daycare.

I would keep him in his current daycare. I say this as someone who has done both - the daycare near home (over an hour away from me at work) and now she is at a daycare close to my job, but has to commute with me. While I loved old daycare, I am SO happy the pressure to pick her up on time everyday is gone. DD doesn't seem to mind driving with me in the car, we listen to music and talk about our day. Even if I am in traffic, I know I have my dd with me, and she's not far away waiting for me at daycare.
Plus, I think the money savings is huge!!!

We have had this discussion and she will stay at her current daycare till she starts kindergarten. We love them, she loves them I wouldn't want to disrupt her.

Re: daycare poll included
I would stay there seem to be a lot of pluses to staying. Also as a working mom I wouldn't compromise on flexibility or increase your costs so much to get it
