Hard time feeding...
DD is 6 weeks old and has trouble staying awake through feelings. Not all, but most. She gets abt 2oz in and then falls asleep and i have a hard time waking her. It's especially bad during the night.
Anyone experience this? Any ideas of how to help her?

Hard time feeding...
At 6 weeks I started the eat, play, sleep routine and it worked great. I basically fed her as soon as she woke in the morning and then after each nap. DD cluster fed in the evening so if she fell asleep while eating before bed I didn't worry about it. It definitely helped make sure she was rested and took a full feeding each time and also kept her from getting into the habit of nursing to sleep which I didn't want to do.

It's pretty normal for a LO to fall asleep during feedings. Are you giving formula or breast milk? I know at 6 weeks my BF DD wouldn't drink more than 3.5oz before falling asleep. She is a peanut though.

If she has no weight issues when she falls asleep just let her sleep

This exactly. My ped told us when DD was around that age that we could let her dictate when she wanted to eat. So if she stopped waking in the middle of the night, we didn't wake her. It was great because it let us start sleeping again too

I bottle feed breast milk.
Overnight I let her do what she wants and by 3.5 hrs she wakes to eat. during the day I do have to wake her sometimes. While she doesn't have a weight issue my Peds office said she should be getting 30-35 oz a day and right now I am struggling with 24 oz. i wake her to make sure she eats.
I would say half the time she falls asleep during feeds. Sometimes I have to stop feeding other times she eats through

Hard time feeding...
pretty normal. I changed her first to wake her up even if she didn't need it. Just a cool wipe on the butt to help! Plus by changing her I took her out of that body warm diaper (if dry). Then I'd have a moist towel to wipe her feet and face to keep her awake (as much as I could).
She was both BF & FF didn't really matter. Its just relaxing for them. LOL
