Multi-city European vacation with a toddler

If you traveled to multiple cities, how did you manage? What did you do? We are planning a trip for next Spring and DD will be 2.

Re: Multi-city European vacation with a toddler

We took our daughter to Paris and Ireland. She was 3 at the time. It actually wasn't too bad. Though we are never very strict with her schedule. She always followed out schedule. We brought an umbrella stroller and she just went everywhere with us. Which was a lot in Paris. We still did the tours and museums. She slept when she was tired. We also managed some nice dinners too. The only thing I was grateful for was that she was still in diapers because we didn't have to worry about finding a bathroom wherever we went.

In Ireland, we had a rental car so she was in the car a lot, but we brought her car seat and she is used to long car rides anyways.

My only suggestion is try to carve out a little time for her each day. For example, in Paris we would do museums in the morning, have lunch and then find a playground or a park for her to play in for a little bit and then we would do our dinners. If you give them the one kiddie thing a day you will be good.

Have fun and enjoy your trip! It was so much fun to watch her have these new experiences.

I agree, we went to London and Paris with my niece when she just turned 3. She was in the strollers slept when she wanted. She actually remembers a lot of the trip which is great and fun!

Everyday we went to a new park for her to run around and we went to the aquarium in London which was fantastic.

I found she was a perfect age to travel with to Europe. Very easy!

Thanks for the suggestions. We have been on vacation with her before, but we were in the Caribbean and we pretty much spent time at the beach. Much different than doing touring! I like the idea of the playground, so I will make sure we do that!
