I am really wanting to splurge on toys right now!! Chat Icon But they are expensive and I feel like we spend too much on DD already. How do you control yourself when you want to spend a ton of money on toys but know you shouldn't?!?

Re: Toys

It's tough!!!

To be honest what I started doing is buying used toys on buy & sell FB pages and paying 1/4 the price usually.

Some things of course I buy new, but for instance outdoor toys, trucks for my Son, things like that I try to find in excellant used condition since he will grow out of it quickly, kids don't really care if something is brand new or not or at least at a young age (My DS is 3).

I guess it makes me feel not so guilty either of buying toys non-stop Chat Icon

I think about how they will like it for 5 minutes and then it will just pile up with all the other toys in my living room!

This! I am actually on the opposite side now and cleaning up all the toys they no longer use. My boys love trains, cars, and superhero stuff and mainly books. Their fav thing is really playing outside on the bikes, playing ball, ezy rider, etc. If I splurge somewhere it's at a craft store like Michaels or AC Moore bc they can sit and do art for a while. Best part is when it's used up you toss it and it's not a ton of money.

Re: Toys

haha I have a love/hate thing with toys... theres so much fun/cute stuff out there. BUT my DS will play with something about 3 times usually and that's it :-/ so I end up with a bunch of toys just piling up in my living room.
BUT I recently found some FB groups for buying/selling kids stuff in my area, and I've gotten some great deals on those. so I've been buying a TON of stuff because I tell myself if he doesn't play with it, i'll just throw it back up there for sale Chat Icon its a fun way to try out different things without paying a ton of money. I'm kind of addicted actually- seems like everyday I'm picking something up :-/

Toys

Between the holidays and her birthday she always gets more than enough toys. I hate clutter and toys really take up so much space, so that keeps me from buying them. Clothes are a different story though! Lol

I'm like this but with clothes! If $$ weren't an issue I would literally buy every cute article of clothing out there. And this is with a boy, I can only imagine if I have a girl the amount of bows and dresses I would buy!!

Rule number 1 in Target clearance is to never call, they never know what they are talking about, unless they are the person with the pricing gun in their hand that does the markdowns (and they aren't). Chat Icon

I looked there briefly yesterday. I only saw 30% off, which they've had for at least two weeks now. I didn't see a ton but there's definitely some.

Re: Toys

My kids have tons of stuff! But I always fel they need more. We just spent $$ on outdoor stuff. I planned to get more but need to curb spending. I'll buy a few things here and there and also rotate toys out. I take them away for a bit then bring them back. Or put them in another part of the house.

Now they need a vetch alphabet toy. Yes, need. Lol. It's only $20 though. I still want to get them some more Melissa and Doug block things their teacher had and also jumbo fridge magnets.

I justify a lot bc it's educational.
