Where to stay in Orlando?
DH's first cousin is getting married in Disney in September. We are not Disney people and have no desire to stay in one of the onsite hotels. We are leaving DS with my parents so would like a spot that is a bit more relaxing and resort-like. We will go to Universal one day because I am a Harry Potter freak, and we will go to the wedding at the Disney Boardwalk and spend that day at Epcot, but other than that no theme parks.
Any recommendations for a place with great pools, bars, etc?

Since you're going to Universal, I would stay at Portofino Bay.

We stayed at Orange lake. Def a bit more family orientated but still very nice. I think 3 pools bars, restaurants and near a ton of things too. Right near the gate to Disney.

This! We actually have a 3 bedroom suite timeshare at the Grande Vista since it's so close to Disney

Thanks for the Recs! The Marriott & Orange Lake seem to be along the lines of what we are looking for.

Re: Where to stay in Orlando?
I'd stay at the Gaylord Palms...they have an adults only pool (which I clearly would want to be at if I didn't have my kids!) and a spa!

Re: Where to stay in Orlando?
My DH stayed at the Gaylord Palms for work and said it was amazing. When we go we always stay at Orange Lake because we're owners. We love it there.

I stayed at marriott harbour lake and absolutely loved it!
Eta: lots more families. If traveling without kids, I'd opt for another marriott. They are all spectacular!
