I am on open market everyday especially since my excess became official Chat Icon there haven't been any new postings...do you think that because of the incentive to retire by June 30 th I'm just out of luck with the minimal postings or do you think that principals may post them soon?... I've emailed principals my cover letter and resume directly. Feeling like I'm out of options

Re: Doe retirement incentive

I've always heard that quite a few positions open up in August. Don't lose hope there will be something out there for you!!

I know guidance is a little tougher to find a position than for teaching.

Have you emailed principals that didn't post openings?

Have you expanded you search to other boroughs besides Queens?

I have sent personalized emails with personalized cover letters and resumes to almost 100 principals... I used to work in Brooklyn before queens and I just can't do a longer commute again... Especially with kids and daycare ... I did get a response from a principal said she would reqch out to me shortly and then I emailed her back and she said she hired someone ... School was never posted on open market

I did the same thing with about 200 principals.

I would reconsider parts of brooklyn that are on the border and send resumes out this week. If you are still looking come August I would definitely widen your search.

I understand the long commute would be hard but what happens if you don't get a position? You get assigned a school right? Then it might be anywhere, possibly somewhere you might not want to be commute wise.

I wish you luck, if I hear of anything I will send news your way.
