Interview Questions
I have an interview for a teaching position tomorrow at a school in Queens. Anyone know of any questions that I might be asked? I'm trying to prepare myself and I'm a little nervous. Thanks in advance!

Re: Interview Questions
I just had an interview last week in the Bronx . They may ask you about previous positions and your experiences there. I got asked about assessments and parental involvement. They asked me what makes me someone they want to hire and if I had any special talents.
Don't be nervous! I didn't really know the answers to some questions but I just rambled on so I seemed like I knew what I was talking about. Fake it til you make it, right? Good luck and keep us updated!

Interview Questions
I went on an interview last week in Queens. It depends on the position that you're going for, mine was special ed/gen ed- probably an ICT teacher. She basically asked me to give a brief overview of my experience, asked me about assessments, use of differentiated instruction, any experience with BIPs and to explain why I would be right for the job. It's really just about selling yourself.

Interview Questions
How do you incorporate some of the common core standards into non-conventional subjects? What would you say is your weakness (always spin this positive) Situational questions, like "how would you handle the child who _____" or the parent who sends back a test with their own corrections? Lots of classroom setup, routine and management questions, like "how does your classroom operate when you have 1 reading period but 3 groups?" Like, how do you keep an eye on them all, or how do you assess them all? Another popular one is "how do you check for understanding after a _____ lesson in a whole group setting?" This is an informal assessment question. It shows you know what everyone is doing and understanding at any given time without testing. You'll get parent involvement/communication questions, too.
Good luck!
