St. Catherine's
Hi ladies,
I'm new to this board. Expecting #2 in December. Just wondering, has anyone delivered at St. Catherine's lately? I had my daughter there 4 years ago but I've heard it has all been redone so I'm just wondering what it's like and what everyone's experience has been.
Thanks!

St. Catherine's
I haven't been there, but the doctor I work for works there (neuro) and I've heard that the new L&D/Maternity ward has been redone and is very nice.

St. Catherine's
I just had ds there 5 months ago, while it looks nice, I was very unhappy with the staff and the food was horrible, they don't even give u a real breakfast in the morning. It's continental style with horrible muffins and packaged Danish. If I have any more kids, I'm not going back. My ds was in the nicu for a week and I found multiple people there very insensitive to my feelings.

Re: St. Catherine's
My SIL delivered there about 7 weeks ago! All private and beautiful
ETA I also noticed how quiet it was! Maybe because I delivered at Winthrop both times (which is ALWAYS chaos with births) but it was nice!

Re: St. Catherine's
I do remember the food being pretty bad. Thanks for the heads up though. :)

Re: St. Catherine's
Thanks for the feedback! Does anyone if the baby stays in the room with mom now? My DD didn't when I was there years ago. Not sure if it's changed.

Re: St. Catherine's
crashing to share: I had my DS there 7 months ago and I was pleased with my experience. LOVED the private room. I didn't really eat much of the food, my family went out and got me a bagel, Panera soup, etc what I wanted. I didn't have my baby room in but they will definitely let you. sometimes when I was due for a dose of pain meds they were a little slow to come around but I feel I got good care overall.

I had to wait an hour for them to get the ok to give me tylenol, meanwhile I was in excruciating pain, almost like I was in labor again. I was laying there crying and the nurse made me feel like I was just being a baby, trust me, I wasn't, those after baby contractions are no joke! Lol. Also I didn't get a private room, they were all full supposedly... my roommate had her baby the whole time and mine was in the nicu, I had to listen to the baby making all its cute sounds and everything which just made it hurt more that I didn't have mine with me. I feel like they shouldn't put someone who has a nicu baby with someone who has theirs.

This was my experience there as well. But my baby was transferred to another hospital. It was horrible seeing her baby and not being able to see mine. But I only stayed 13 hours postpartum then I was discharged.
