Kindergarten demo!
So after years of dealing with a hiring freeze and looking for a job, I have the opportunity to do a demo lesson for a kindergarten class on Wednesday!
Any suggestions for what I should do? I was thinking about something with phonics. Any recommendations for what works and what doesn't would be great also. TIA

Kindergarten demo!
This is a very hard time of year to be doing a demo lesson. Honestly, most Kindergartners have grasped letter and sound recognition by now and I'm not too sure you will hold their attention with a phonics lesson this late in June. Why don't you do a sequencing lesson with a story such as It Looked Like Spilt Milk? Just a food for thought, I changed schools two years ago after being in the same school for 11 years. My principal said, one of the things that made her love me was that prior to me coming in for the demo lesson I called the school and asked if I can get a list of the children's names sent to me so I can make name tags prior to going in. Management is EVERYTHING! Best of luck to you and feel free to FM me if you have any other questions. I've been a Kindergarten Teacher for 14 years in Queens.
