Where do you spend your weekends during the summer.
I am trying to organize some weekends away this summer - we have two young kids. We live out east so the hamptons are out.
I would be able to turn some of those weekends into three days but mostly two day weekends.
So where do you go on the weekends in the summer?
Where do you stay?
What were the highlights of this trip?
I figure this will help others out too. TIA

Weekend in the Jersey Shore. We have a family lake house upstate so I love to go upstate. Such an escape. There are the finger lakes, lake George, Saratoga (the great escape is nearby).

We have a family house in Lake George that we spend a lot of time at in the summer. Our DS loves it up there - we take him out on the lake, into town, to Great Escape. There's even a drive in movie theater in Glens Falls (one town over) that is great for the kids.

-NJ: AC, Seaside Heights
-Upstate: We go to a few different places but I highly recommend Glenbrook Farms - it's great for kids and adults! They have a huge in-ground pool with a water slide, an arcade room, a bunch of animals and two different playgrounds for the kids... and a bar so when the kids go to sleep, you can right outside your room and grab a drink! There's also the Icebox, an old school roller rink and Shinglekill Falls if you want to do something touristy.
-Lake George: We have a house there but there's a lot of different places to stay and activities for children. We're going up in July and going to a water park, Great Escape and the lake/kayaking with my nephews.

I didn't know about the movie theater. I'll have to look into that - thanks for sharing!

We have family that live outside of new paltz so we go up there a lot. They have a creek for fishing and kayaking and there are so many local places to hike and mountain bike. It's only a 2.5-3 hour drive so easy to go for one or two nights.
We've also done some weekends on fire island. We stay in Davis Park or Ocean Beach.
My sister used to live in Fenwick Island, DE (right next to Ocean City, MD) so I've spent lots of weekends out there. Great beaches, fun restaurants (Liquid Assets for wine, cheese, and apps is my absolute favorite). We also did the boardwalk in Bethany or Rehobeth which are nice.

Glenbrook Farms doesn't appear to have a website, only a FB page with very little info. I had searched for it when it was previously mentioned on here
