Transitioning from purees to table foods
How did you do this? Right now ds gets jars of fruit, veg and chicken or turkey throughout the day. Did you just cut up reg meats to give? He doesn't have teeth yet so I'm nervous to give too much. I guess I can start cutting up reg cheese and meats for dinner? He's not a fan of puffs likes to pick them up but not eat them

Re: Transitioning from purees to table foods
I remember it was around Passover so since matzo ball soup with chicken in it is so soft and almost melts in your mouth I started with that. DS2 LOVED that. Just small tiny pieces so they get the gumming idea. Soft chicken, pancakes, mashed up bananas are always good to start. Something they really can't choke on. As they get used to that then go a little bigger. When I started DS with puffs I first crushed it in my finger and put the powder on his tongue so he got used to the new texture.

Transitioning from purees to table foods
I started with breakfast. I kinda felt it was the easiest food to deal with. Cereals, pancakes, french toast sticks, waffles.
All can be cut up into small pieces and are softer.

Re: Transitioning from purees to table foods
I didn't transition or do anything special. I just started cutting up everything and anything we ate and put it on their tray to try. They LOVED table food right from the start.

Re: Transitioning from purees to table foods
I personally wouldn't start table foods with meat. Those require more chewing. At first, give soft foods so the baby can get the hang of the chewing action. Yogurt melts might be good if your baby isn't interested in puffs since they dissolve.

Transitioning from purees to table foods
We started with puffs, then Cheerios, then small bites of whatever we were eating. We did fruits and veggies, eggs, soft things then slowly gave her tougher stuff when she seemed interested. Even at 13 months she's not a huge meet eater unless its a hotdog or ground turkey.

Re: Transitioning from purees to table foods
I am doing this right now. My DD is 9.5 months. I just started with really soft foods in really small pieces. I mean REALLY small. Breakfast: cheerios, kix (DH cuts them in half but she doesn't need it cut), soft boiled eggs, yogurt, shaved mango, watermelon, oatmeal, banana, cream of wheat. (Pretty much off purees now) Lunch: Peas or lima beans. (I take the skin off), squash, sweet potato, and 1-2oz of purees bc she doesn't eat more than 5 pieces of food. Dinner: Elbow pasta, pastina, beans, mozarella cheese, as much puree as she wants but its not usually more than 2oz.
My DD hates eating time. She is interested for about 5 minutes and then she is done. I more keep trying different foods with the hope she will learn to enjoy eating.
She has tried chocolate and whipped cream. She likes them.

Re: Transitioning from purees to table foods
I started with chunks of avocado and sliced banana
Eta- also soft steamed carrots was another good one.
We quickly branched out to other foods of various textures.
