Chicago trip ideas
I'm looking to visit Chicago the first or second week if July to visit family. We want to make a vacation out of it but are looking for reviews and ideas of things to do. We are a family of 4, kids are 4 and 2.
Ideally we need a hotel or rental with a separate bedroom and it would be nice to have a kitchen. We are thinking if spending a few days in the city and maybe a day trip or short trip outside of the city
TIA

I loooooooove love love Chicago. Everything that ANDHC said, plus I'd like to add:
Please have an Italian beef sandwich for me from Connie's or The Patio, and a Chicago hot dog with an extra hot pepper. I think I'd give my left arm for one right now. They are the best right on Michigan avenue

All of the above, plus you can go the beach right at the end of Michigan Ave - I love that you can be there, right in the sand and look back at the city and see all the skyscapers
