I haven't done so yet, but I remember when my BFF's when through this a few months ago - BBB in Westbury had a customer service person who went around with them and they found it incredibly helpful.... especially since they were CLUELESS. They spent a few hours there and really only registered for the things they absolutely needed.

If you have any friends or family who recently had a baby, ask them for recommendations. Also I hear the Baby Bargains book is helpful.

For me, I would recommend:

Rock N Play (the Snugabunny/Snugapuppy ones in particular)
Aden & Anais Easy Swaddle Blanket
Aden & Anais Bamboo swaddle blankets
Carters white onesies
Playtex Ventaire bottles

I really liked lucieslist.com when I was registering a few years ago. I'm not sure all the info is up to date but she breaks down what you need and when and what are good features to look for. There's also a printable list there that's probably not as overboard as the store lists are.

I started with the big items, researched and read reviews. I registered for that stuff and some of the smaller stuff the first day and then went back to add stuff or made changed online later. It's a lot to try to do at once.

Re: Registry

We started looking at Baby Bargains book for the big items - wrote down top 3 strollers and car seats.

Then we did a walk-through BBB just to get a sense of all the stuff that exists to get us more comfortable with it, and choose the stroller and car seat.

Then we went again and choose the other key items - pack and play, etc.

And then a third time to finalize.

Once we did that, I would update a few things online here and there, but this made it essentially stress-free for us and we were both completely aligned with what we wanted.

I haven't used the items yet, but here's the things that were must-haves on my list:

- Aden + Anais swaddle blankets
- Baby monitor
- Thermometer
- High Chair
- Boon lawn drying rack and accessories (realize this is not a 'must have' but it's one of my favorite things based on cuteness level lol)
- Infant tub
- Changing pad + sheets
- Car seat
- Stroller
- Ergobaby carrier
- Swing - we did the 4moms Mamaroo
- Jumperoo
- Pack 'n Play
- Mattress

Had a bunch of other things, but these were the biggies.
