6 day old is up all night and sleeps all day...advice needed!
I had a baby girl last Tuesday. I am EBF. She is literally up all night. She is fussy, cluster feeds, cries when I put her down, etc. But she sleeps all day! I know she is only 6 days old but I also have a 5 & 3 year old and it is so hard to function on barely any sleep. I don't remember it being this hard with my other 2 who I also EBF. I at least got to sleep 1-2 hours between feedings. Any advice?

DD was like that for a little while. Nothing I did could wake her during the day. At night, I would keep it dark with just a low lamp for feeding, swaddle, use white noise, and only change her diaper if it was poopy (I kept a little flashlight on my nightstand to check it!). No talking or engaging, just feed, swaddle, and back down. During the day, I didn't swaddle and kept things bright, didn't keep things quiet. Eventually they will realize it's more exciting to be awake during the day.
Also, when it was really bad I did sometimes doze off while she was nursing. I didn't make a habit of it and it made me nervous but she'd lay on my chest and neither of us moved an inch. It was the best feeling to wake up after an hour or two with a satisfied baby and I could put her down and sleep more.

She has day-night confusion and it's very common. It usually takes a few weeks to work out naturally. All you can really do is try to keep things bright and loud during the day, and quiet and dark at night. Wake her every few hours during the day to eat - and don't wake her at all if she falls asleep at night. Try to engage with her during the day, play music, dance around, talk to her, etc.
She'll eventually adjust. Until she does, though, there isn't that much else you can do. Hang in there, it'll pass and get better!

She will work it out. Just try as much as possible to get some sleep.
