Re: I am going to caulk my tub.

Make sure all the old caulk is completely gone. Clean up very well and let it dry. I used some painters tape on top and bottom to make a nice even edge.

After caulking smooth the caulk. I did not have a smoothing tool so I did it with my finger. You wet your finger then apply a light even pressure to smooth out the caulk. Try not to stop the motion when doing it.

make sure to use silicone if there was silicone previously used as caulk. I learned that the hard way....once silicone is used you cannot use a latex based product - it won't stick. So buy a silicone based caulk and you should be all set!

I suggest taping also. But down the sides as well leaving you with a fingers with opening all the way down. This way when you peel it off (while still wet) you have a nice clean lineChat Icon

B4 you caulk...I recommend using grout instead. It is easier to clean - and wont turn black like Caulk will. Grout is really easy to put in too

Hmmm grout...how is that different. Please don't laugh at me..I really don't know the difference but I'm eager to learn.
