Is this just hormones or would this bother you?
Many of you know my MIL has been living with us for the last month. She can't keep still and gets very bored very easy so she's been working on our yard. First, she ripped up a very special plant to me from the backyard because "she thought it was dead"... It was the FARTHEST THING FROM DEAD, it is just a mid-summer blooming plant. Whatever... She goes and buys 5 bush like plants and starts asking where I want to put them. I say I want them along the fence next to the driveway to hide the fence. Then she says "ohhh, I should put them along the front of the house." I said, I really want them along the fence... "Ohhh, I'll put 3 along the fence, 2 in front of the house." Ok, first of all - THIS ISNT YOUR BLEEPING HOUSE, ITS MINE!!!!!! Second of all, why bother asking me where I want them if you are just going to put them where you want anyway. DH doesn't really care and is trying just to remain calm with her. I am done with having someone else living in my house. Mind you she also asked me all of this when I just walked out of the shower and I was in my towel.

It would definitely bother me. It seems your mother in law doesn't have a clue about boundaries. How long will she be living with you? I hope it's not too long for your own sanity! lol!

Thank you!! DH is trying just to keep it all calm, especially since she is moving indefinitely to Hong Kong in 3 weeks. I just am so beyond upset at this point, I don't even want to be in my house.

This is very temporary so just try to take a deep breath and allow this to pass. Part of it is very cultural and she may think that she is helping you guys more than hurting. If it were me, I would just grin through it to just preserve the relationship. If she does not respect your wishes, I suggest you speak with DH to intervene and explain it as both of your intentions, not just your wants.

That's what I'm doing. If I get upset I just leave for a little. I know she thinks she's helping, so I don't say anything, I just fester inside. T-minus 20 days.
