Failed the 1 hour...UPDATED
So disappointed...got the call from my dr that I failed the 1 hour with a 172. What are the chances of me passing the 3 hour? Just feel so deflated after getting the call.
ETA: But I passed the 3 hour! I drove myself a little nuts. Only advice I could ever pass along is that there is a reason they do the 3 hour!!

Failed the 1 hour...
It honestly depends. You can't base it off of your 1 hour number. I failed the 1 hour by 10 points or less (I forget) and still failed the 3 hour.
Just listen to what your doctor says to do before the 3 hour. Good luck!

Not true, everyone doesn't fail it. I didn't - it really depends on how your body reacts during pregnancy. From what I've read, it's nothing someone eats or does wrong, it's in many cases not controllable, and in general people that do have GD go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies.

Don't worry. I know quite a few people that failed the one hour and then passed the 3 hour.

I heard my Dr's office now does the 2 hour because of this. If you fail, that's it. No 3 hour.

Very true! You can't really control the results. It's all how your body reacts to the pregnancy.
I ended up with GD and DD was absolutely perfect. I delivered at 39w and she was a healthy 7lb5oz. I had no problems maintaining my blood sugar and DD passed all of her foot pricks with flying colors.

You are very right, it just seemed to me that everyone I knew was failing the 1 hr, and a lot of girls here did, it was a broad generalization.

I failed the 1 hr too by 11 points and I was so upset. Like everyone has said, there's nothing you can really do. I went on to pass the 3 hr. Wishing you all the best with yours.

My office sent me right for a 2 hour...they don't do the 1 hour because of the unreliability.

There are MANY false positives since it is only a screening test not a diagnostic test. I just barely passed the one hour and my doctor said while I did not have GD, I should still be mindful of my sugar intake.

I totally get what you're saying. I think there are many people who fail the 1 hour, but go on to pass the 3 hour. When I was pregnant with DD, I failed the 1 hour with DD, but passed the 3.

I failed my 1 hour too!!!!  Got a 141, passing 130 UGHH!! plus when i did an US yesterday they said that the fluid in the baby looks a but high!! more things for me to worry about!

Not everyone fails the one hour- my OB practice requires patients take the one hour in the first and second trimester and I passed both time without fasting.

Did you do anything differently between the time you failed and took the next test? I just failed with a 162, and go back saturday/ My dr made it seem like the end of the world :(

Only thing I did differently was fasting before hand. My appointment was 7:30 in the morning so I made sure not to eat anything after 10 o'clock.
When my dr called to tell me I passed she scolded me for looking online. There's a reason they do the 3 hour test...it's not the end of the world and it's incredibly manageable!!! I looked online just to be prepared to ask any question cause I had it stuck in my head that I was going to fail the 3 hour as well..since I failed the 1 hour terribly...I failed with a 172. Don't stress until you have the definitive answer from the 3 hour. It will be boring...bring something to read or keep you occupied since you'll be in the same spot pretty much for 3 hours. They draw your blood before the drink...which I liked because they are able to see your base line.
