I can't believe Carly is going to be 5! Feels like I just watched the episode when they had her! If it's true congratulations to them. They're young; but they seem to have a strong relationship.

I don't understand why they wouldn't get married first. This really makes no sense to me. I mean, they're engaged, so they're supposedly intending to get married. If they're ready for the baby, why don't they just get married?

I used to like them as a couple but not anymore. Last few times I saw them, they just don't seem happy. I'm shocked they where trying for a baby. Tyler just doesn't seem into her and can't even commit to marriage.

I didn't want to be the one to say it - I think the same thing.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. When I watched the special on them, I really had a hard time liking Tyler anymore. I used to really like them, but he just seems like an angry kid now. I hope that they have worked on themselves and their relationship since they filmed that, because based on what was seen (which we all know is edited) it didn't seem like they would last much longer.

Teen Mom Catelynn and Tyler are having a baby!
He took back the engagement ring, last I saw.
He doesn't want to be tied down - you can see it. He may love Catelynn, but he wants to be young and free. Catelynn wants the family she could have had with Carly - but even if they'd kept her and stayed together, I don't think they would have lasted.

I completely agree with you and I never said that. Basically what I was getting at was that they're engaged and can't even commit to get married due to issues in their relationship, which makes them seem unstable. Not a good situation to bring a baby into IMO.
Now if they were just two people who don't believe in getting married but have a great relationship, that's another story. That doesn't seem to be the case here though.

regardless of their status, I am happy for both of them. They both wanted their daughter so much and did an amazing and brave thing by putting her before their needs to give her the best life they could. I think even if they dont work out, they will still be awesome parents.
You dont have to be married to be an awesome parent.

Never said they had to be married to have a baby and good relationship. I know you don't have to but they don't seem like they have a good relationship at all. They where even on that couples rehab. Tyler just doesn't seem happy and they seem to fight a lot. I'm sure they will be great parents.

But that's the problem with reality TV....95% of "scenes" are set up. and then we only see a snap shot.
I believe more of reality TV until my sister & BF started working in the business on various shows. I now don't believe any of it.

I feel sorry for those two, i hope they make it they both came from such crap. I love how they gave Carly up for adoption, truly a blessing for her new parents.

I'm pulling for them. They didn't seem ready for marriage when they were on couples therapy. So I'm surprised they are having a baby before getting married. It makes me think they still weren't ready to but got pregnant anyway. They are clearly in a much better place than they were 5 years ago but I wonder if they are really meant to be together forever. I hope it works out for them. They seem like sweet people who both had hellish upbringings.

A lot of these tv shows are so so so heavily scripted and parts of their relationship may be as well. I hope they pull through too. And hope their child gets a relationship with Carley. I smell a spin off here!

I remember an episode a few years back where her mother was hard up for money so she sold a story to US weekly that was a lie and Catelyn called her out on it on the show. If they are then I wish them the best, but until they confirm it I don't think it's true based on the past.
