I am so freakin ******

You ladies will this posted on the NFR board as well. I wanted to post it here origially but didn't realize I was not in the parenting board. All this moving around from board to board gets confusing...LOL

Anyways:

DS christening is October 8th and we invited our immediate family, our aunts and uncles and 5 of my FIL's cousins since none of his siblings live in this country. We want his side of the family that does live here to feel like they are a part of things. Oh and we also invited our closest friends.

None of my MIL's siblings are coming! She's got 4 brothers and 3 sisters and none of them are coming! I am so freaking ******. The best is that one of her sisters said the ride is too long for her husband, yet I'll see them at everyone else's party. Then the ride isn't too long for them I guess. I told my MIL that we are done inviting them to anymore occasions that me and DH have for Matthew or ourselves, and nor will we go to any of their parties. We are done!

I'm sorry you're so upset. My parents are actually feeling the same way in terms of my mom's family. Everyone was invited to my 8 year old niece's b-day party this summer. Many people couldn't make it because of prior engagements, ok that's understandable, but then noone who was supposed to come came either. My poor niece had a pathetic b-day party with just immediate family- and she's plenty old enough to understand that other people were supposed to be there and didn't show. My dad said he refuses to invite these people to his house ever again.

I don't understand people sometimes.

At least the people who truly love him will be there. Thank God at least some of my aunts and uncles will be there, and our immediate family and friends as well.

I told my MIL we are done inviting them anymore. And those 5 cousins of my FIL's, they go everywhere and those 5 cousins will continue to be invited.
