Family Health insurance costs

My estimated health care for family will be over $1000/month out of pocket, with my employers health care through Aetna.

I am very torn on making my husband and baby go through Obama care once she is born in July.

Anyone have a similar bill (myself was only $140/month, but adding on people is much more)?

Anyone have experience with Obamacare? My HR manager said to stay away from it as you always have to fight w/Dr's and no Dr's want to accept it.

Just so you know the Affordable health care act was made for people like you. People who are forced to spend 1K a month for health care.

And its "main stream" insurance. You go on and see what plans are available at what price. Its Aetna, Blue cross etc.

To the best of my understanding, a doctor does not know you have "ACA" health insurance. They know you have Aetna or Blue Cross.

But the ACA is made FOR people like you

I work in a Medical Office, and unfortunately the ACA insurance is different. We accept magnacare, aetna, etc. but not from people who have it through the marketplace. The reason the doctors I work for aren't accepting it is bc all the specialist we refer to aren't taking it, so it interfere with how they can treat their patients. The cards look the same but theres a little symbol of it coming from the marketplace, and that stupid symbol makes the difference on whether or not we accept it.
My insurance only cost me around $90 a month, but as of June 1st it's going up to $560 for my family plan. It sucks, but my husbands job doesn't offer insurance.
BUT on the positive note, my father got a plan through the marketplace, he's paying $110 a month for his whole plan, and was able to find a pcp who takes it and luckily he is in great health and doesn't need anything specialists, and is 100% covered for hospitals.
So I'm torn on it.

See, I am so torn too. My husband rarely gets sick so I wouldn't mind him going on it (not me or the baby)

Look into child health plus for your baby. Someone I work with has an employee and spouse plan through work and child health plus for his kids. It was more cost effective than a family plan and the coverage from child health plus is more comprehensive than the work plan. Then you and DR could see if your employer offers employee and spouse options which are lower than family plans.
