Runny nose with teething?
There seems to be differing thoughts on whether or not teething causes runny nose. Did your DC get runny when cutting teeth?
DD is 4 months on tues and has been super drooly and gnawing on her hands. Today she has a clear runny nose. Not sure if it's a cold or teeth.

Re: Runny nose with teething?
My DD always seems to get a runny nose when she's cutting a tooth. I think the reason they say there is no correlation is so that people don't just brush off all possible illnesses as teething related. But I def think there is a link. Hope your LO feels better!

Re: Runny nose with teething?
At 4 months I would say cold. Dd1 didn't have to many issues teething. Dd2 on the other hand is crankier. She's 1 now. Has 2 teeth breaking through almost done, and a runny nose. I thought she was sick but nothing else seems to be wrong so I'm guessing it's from the teeth. At 4 months unless you see white I would guess cold and just normal 4 moth oral fixation.

Runny nose with teething?
My son always gets a clear runny nose when teething. That and lots of drool, crankiness, and then a low grade fever right before the tooth cuts through.

Re: Runny nose with teething?
my dd always gets a runny nose when she cuts teeth. alwaysss. she's been sick 2x - the croup at 10 months old: started with congestion and turned into awfulness within 48 hours. and a cold just recently at 18 months: again started with congestion and didn't progress into much worse (no cough etc) but there was sneezing, awful mood, worse congestion etc. I just KNEW when she was sick. the runny nose with teething was just... different. it'd be a slight runny nose for a day or two and then just disappear altogether - and didn't effect her mood or anything.

Re: Runny nose with teething?
My son did. When he did have a cold it was easy to tell the difference. He was pretty miserable. When it was teething, for the most part he was himself.

Re: Runny nose with teething?
Thanks all. It's running off and on and clear, but she doesn't seem like she has a cold. She had her first cold at six weeks (thanks to DD1) and had thicker, yellow mucus. The drooling has been crazy. I had to change her shirt mid-day. She is also crying on and off in her sleep, which my DD1 did when teething.
