DD's bedtime is later and later

She is 18 mos and within the past two months she simply isn't tired and takes 45min to 2 hours to fall asleep. She doesn't cry but just plays around in the crib forever. Once asleep she's out 10-12 hours. Sometimes we have to wake her at 8:30-9am in the morning. She's sleeping late bc she's up so late!

Should I try waking her from naps? She only naps 1x a day and we try to put her down early like 12:30-1 and she naps 2-3 hours. I notice on days she sleeps till 4pm she doesn't fall asleep till 9:30-10 at night. I feel like it wasn't that long ago she was fast asleep by 8 or 8:30 at the latest. She also started walking recently so maybe this is a phase? We try to reset her and get her up earlier so the whole day is better and things happen earlier but after a few days she falls back into the same pattern. Should we just go with the flow??? DH travels a bunch and Mama needs a break and I sorta miss the days she was in the crib by 7:45pm!! She never looks tired or yawns and on late nap days we put her down a tad later.

DS is 3.5 and we go through the same thing. he definitely still needs a nap in the afternoon. if we're out around 1:30 or so, he'll fall asleep in the car, or start acting goofy/tired Chat Icon BUT, same as your DD- if I let him nap too late, he's up until 10, tossing and turning in his crib :-/ SO I started waking him up after about 1.5 hours... so I try not to let him nap too much past 3/3/:15. I feel bad waking him up- but its definitely better for him at night time.

Do you do a routine with her to have it be quiet time? DD doesn't get a bath every night, but we do reading before bed so it relaxes her.

I try to allow my dd to nap only 2 hours, this works for her. And I don't let her sleep past 2-230 the latest otherwise she doesn't go to bed until 9-930. The older she got the longer the span was from nap to bedtime. Shes 22 months now. If she slept for 3 hours and until 4 pm my dd wouldn't go to bed until 11- Im sure. LOL

Same here. As my DS got older we needed to cut the nap at 2 hrs (max!) and not let him sleep past 3pm latest.
